Microwave Cleaning: Fast & Easy, But Also Healthy

Microwave Cleaning: Fast & Easy, But Also Healthy

Does the inside of your microwave oven look like a crime scene? Have you had enough of seeing it grow into a science project but you just don’t feel like spending an afternoon scrubbing it out? Here’s an easy hack that cleans any microwave without heavy work or caustic chemicals. And it will look good as new.

  • Microwaveable bowl or glass.
  • Half a lemon.
  • Paper towel or sponge.

  • Place half a lemon in a microwaveable glass.
  • Fill bowl with water, about ¼ full.
  • Place half-lemon in the bowl.
  • Microwave for 5-7 minutes. Let it steam up.
  • Carefully remove bowl with oven mittens or a dish towel (hot)
  • Wipe the insides with a sponge or paper towel.

This method will loosen all the grease, tomato sauce, or any forensic evidence that’s been building up for however long you’ve ignored it. If the first cleaning doesn’t get it all off on the first go, just repeat the process again for another five to seven minutes. Wipe it down.

Your microwave doesn’t need caustic chemicals, sprays or anything else that’s going to get into your reheated slice of pizza the next time you use it. Lemon is fresh, clean and has it’s own natural oils that work to steam clean your microwave.

Best of Luck & Happy Cleaning!
